Our Story
Shaggy's Hideaway is a local favourite tucked away on Ambergris Caye — the kind of place you hear about from someone who lives here. We serve the freshest seafood the island has to offer, cold Belikin beers, and rum cocktails made the way they're supposed to be made.
Whether you're a fisherman, a first-time visitor, or a regular looking for your table — you'll find a warm welcome, great food, and the real spirit of Belize here.

Shaggy's was a local find and recommendation! The jalapeño balls and coconut shrimp were great. Everyone ordered seafood and it was fantastic and fresh. Best flaky snapper we've had in a while. The staff was super friendly. Would 15/10 recommend!!
Definitely off the beaten track but worth the drive. Very welcoming, got us drinks right away. The shrimp ceviche was so delicious — they had to send someone out for more limes. Worth the wait. Staff were awesome and it had a great chi.
Went on NYE 2025. This place has personality! The staff had a great sense of humor and the food was delicious. We had the Jalapeño Balls, Shrimp Kaboob, Cheeseburger, Pork Chop, and the Big Luck Burger. Forgot to take pics because we were too busy eating.
The food was very good. Authentic to Belize. The chicken fingers for my 3-year-old grandson were actually really good — homemade. The dirty rice and beans were excellent. Service is wonderful, bathrooms nice and clean. We will be back.

We're tucked away on Ambergris Caye — that's part of the charm. Take the road north past town, follow the signs, and you'll find us. Ask a local if you get lost; everyone knows Shaggy's.
